Comments Off Looking for rustic/primitive campsites in Central Illinois near Starved Rock with few crowds?
I am looking for a primitive and rustic campsite that is no more than 2-3 hours form the Western suburbs of Chicago. I would like a place where you can make a bonfire and possibly close to canoeing. We will be bringing three boys who are looking to enjoy the outdoors ( 7, 10, 13 yrs old). Any ideas?
CHAIN O LAKES STATE PARK HAS IT ALL. FISHING, CAMPING, CANOEING, AND HIKING. GREAT TIME GREAT PLACE. AND NOT THAT FAR AWAY.
