I just bought a new canoe skid plates add now or wait until it breaks? ?
I live in Minnesota boundary waters are not very tolerant. I just bought a Royalex canoe 16 feet Appalachian Old Town. Would it be advisable to install skid plates damaged before or after?
Well, you have plenty of time before the BWCA is safe from the icebergs. You could also put the guards at present and keep the boat looking its best from the beginning. Of course, no need to tell you the best way is to keep it off the rocks and the shield in the BWCA. Although I have a lot of aluminum in Minnesota and lakes in Canada and I always try to lift the canoe or kayak. My friends and family are tired of the conference about how my ships have to last forever, so do not drag! Have fun.
