1. Depends on where you are and when you paddle. If you’re canoeing in the wilderness in Canada in October, then cold water (hypothermia), wind driven waves (weathercocking of the hull), wildlife encounters (grizzly?) … If you’re canoeing on the lower Colorado river in August, then heat stroke, etc. The first question can’t be answered without more relevant details to your situation.
