North Georgia Blue Ridge Mountains offer a variety of festivals throughout the year. Most festivals occur in the spring to fall seasons with the fourth of July is the peak time. It is noteworthy that there are many festivals that also occur in December.

Blue Ridge Mountain Adventure Race, April

This race is held annually in April. For this race of 80 co-ed teams of three walks, mountain biking, kayaking and running in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The race starts in the Chattahoochee National Forest and ends in downtown Blue Ridge City Park, where competitors are greeted with live music, food and the finish line.

Cinco de Mayo Festival, McCaysville-Copperhill – May:

The Festival Cinco de Mayo is celebrated every May. What makes this festival (and fun) is the food, music and dancing that occurs on the street bridge between McCaysville, GA and Copperhill, TN.

Arts In The Park, Blue Ridge – Memorial Day weekend:

Blue Ridge Park City is the site of more than 200 arts, crafts and food stalls every weekend from Memorial Day. Arts in the Park is a great demonstration of mountain crafts, art, music and dance, and has been recognized as one of the top 20 events of the Southeast Tourism Society.

Old Timers Day, the center of Blue Ridge – Saturday closest to July 4:

This celebration includes a parade in downtown Blue Ridge. This is a great place to be food, crafts, ice cream and entertainment.

Lake Blue Ridge Fireworks, Marina – on or near July 4:

During the afternoon, this is a great place for live music and food. At night people enjoy fireworks over Lake Blue Ridge.

Concerts in the Park, downtown Blue Ridge Park – July and August:

This place is a source of good music in a beautiful setting in the summer nights. Bring your own quilt or lawn chair and picnic dinner, then enjoy music.

Blue Ridge Kiwanis Rodeo – August:

This western rodeo is fun for all ages. Rodeo features bull riding, horseback riding bronco, lasso the calf, bareback, steer wrestling with, loop equipment, barrel racing and other special events.

Labor Day BBQ, Labor Day in downtown Blue Ridge,

This BBQ annual downtown Blue Ridge City Park starts at 11 am and runs until the food runs out.

Wildlife Arts Festival, downtown Blue Ridge Park – September:

Wildlife Festival includes information on forest services, demonstrations of fly fishing, good food and entertainment. There are over 75 artists the site that sells sculptures, paintings and wood.

Family Fishing Festival, Chattahoochee National Fish Hatchery, September

Mountain Harvest sale, Blue Ridge Farmer Market – 3rd and 4th week of October:

The Mountain Harvest Sale features local arts, crafts, food and entertainment on two separate October weekends.

Halloween Safety Zone, the center of Blue Ridge,

The center of Blue Ridge's Main Street closed and children of all ages trick or treat from store to store.

Holiday Art Show & Sale – November and December:

Arts & Crafts Store regional Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association Thanksgiving through Christmas.

Light up Blue Ridge, downtown Blue Ridge, Saturday after Thanksgiving:

See the lighting of Christmas trees and watch as Santa arrives. The Christmas festival in downtown Blue Ridge includes music, refreshments, caroling and activities all day.

Hometown Christmas, downtown McCaysville – First Saturday of December:

See the light the bridge in McCaysville, GA. This parade included the arrival of Santa Claus, food, refreshments and entertainment.

Blue Ridge Scenic Railway Express Christmas – Weekend December:

Bring your children to travel by train from Blue Ridge vacation and see Santa, Mrs. Claus and elves. Listen to stories and sing Christmas carols.
