Canoeing Kingston

A major multinational and multi-sport event – the Commonwealth Games – was launched in 1930 under the name 'British Empire Games "and consists of elite athletes of the Commonwealth of Nations. When it comes to the wide variety of sports in this particular case, each candidate city in search to host the Commonwealth Games is supposed to include a minimum of 10 sports in its program.
History
During the first Commonwealth Games in Hamilton in 1930, only six sports throughout the program: Athletics, Aquatics (Swimming and Diving) Boxing, Lawn Bowls, rowing and wrestling. Later, the Sports Federation Commonwealth Games Committee proposed some schemes and the factors to be included in the program, which is included in Regulation 6 of the CGF Constitution.
Overview
Under the guidelines, the host may include a maximum of 7 games in a list of optional sports, with a maximum of 4 team sports in their program. Eligible for these games of a list that includes: Billiards, Canoeing, golf, handball, Lifesaving, Softball Regattas / Sailing and Volleyball.
Surprisingly, cricket – the sport most acclaimed in the world – has been included once in 1998 at Kuala Lumpur Commonwealth Games, but is still a recognized sport in the list of the CGF.
Moreover, the Commonwealth Youth Games are allowed to include a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 8 sports. Of these, 2 maximum can team sports. Athletics and swimming are compulsory in the list.
Games scheduled for the 2010 Commonwealth
Commonwealth Games 2010, will be held in New Delhi, have a total of 17 games. These are:
- Swimming (Diving and Swimming)
- Archery (first appeared in Brisbane 1982)
- Athletics (appears in all Commonwealth Games so far)
- Badminton (debuted in Kingston, 1966)
- Boxing (Hamilton 1930 Highlights of Melbourne 2006)
- Cycling (First Once in London, 1934)
- Gymnastics (including for the first time in Edmonton 1978)
- Hockey (introduced in Kuala Lumpur, 1998)
- Lawn Bowls (included in every program except Kingston, 1966)
- Net Ball (introduced in Kuala Lumpur, 1998)
- Rugby 7's (sports team presented Kuala Lumpur, 1998)
- Tire (made his first appearance in Kingston, 1966)
- Squash (made its debut in Kuala Lumpur, 1998)
- Tennis table (first appeared in Manchester, 2002)
- Tennis (will debut in New Delhi 2010)
- Weightlifting (basic sport for men and women from Auckland 1950)
- Wrestling (shown in Hamilton 1930)
Besides the aforementioned sports, the list FGC includes games such as rowing, Judo, Fencing, Basketball, Bowling, Triathlon, Water Polo, etc. But these are not included in the list of 2010.

As per the Commonwealth Games official calendar, October 2010 will bring a new identity to Delhi. Commonwealth Games 2010 Sports will set new parameters for entertainment. 2010 Commonwealth Games, going to be held in Delhi, will have a total of 17 games.
