Where would be a fun place to go to Australia for a getaway NSW / fun if you had a parent with a mental illness?

Does anyone have any suggestions about places and activities to take children with a parent with mental illness. It can be for a couple of days or only one output to give the child the opportunity to go out and do something they can not have the opportunity to do? Things like entertainment center, canoeing, horseback riding, etc. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!

Canberra is a great place to go. Perth beach is fun too. and by the way this is not how to spell Perth. Im just Lazzy. Anywhere on the coast is good.
