Canoeing Shenandoah Valley
Secluded cabin/cottage in the middle of the woods for rent within 3 hours of DC?
I’m interested in a nature getaway weekend in the Shenandoah Valley, or anywhere within 3 hour drive of DC for that matter. Can anyone give recommendations on where to stay that is isolated/secluded/in the middle of the woods (basically I don’t want to see hordes of tourists as I step right outside)? The only things important to me are private bathroom and wood-burning fireplace, don’t care about phone/TV. Needless to say I would prefer to be close to trails, waterfalls/lakes, wineries and outdoor activities such as hiking, horseback riding, canoeing, fall foliage viewing, etc.
Thank you for any suggestions.
