Every time I talk with people on the phone and they are trying to find out where Palm Bay, Florida, is that I always say, "You know, is about 45 minutes south of where they launch rockets and immediately know where I am talking about. That's just one of the advantages of living in Florida's Space Coast.

There is hardly a person in the United States and very few in the world but at least have some knowledge of the Space Coast and in which "rockets" is executed. Growing up as a child in Brevard County was a great privilege to go into our backyard and watch the rocket that would take men to the moon Shuttle and eventually take astronauts to the International Space Station. Not many people in the world comes to see that.

Beyond launches rocket from the Space Coast has advantages that are attractive to more than 500,000 people in Brevard County. The beaches are a big draw for many people, such as sunbathers and surfers flock to the sea beginning in March each year. Some of the most famous beaches are Sebastian Inlet Beach, Indialantic Beach and, of course, of Cocoa Beach, home to the popular television show of the late 60's, I Dream Of Jeannie.

The Space Coast is also a great retreat for the elderly such as Melbourne and Palm Bay areas were voted the best place from 4 to leave the country a few years ago. Many communities high point of Brevard County and the community Medical offers a wide range of advanced services for retired citizens. Space Coast a great place to spend their golden years.

One of the most notable advantages Life in Space Coast is time. Florida Sunshine State is not called at all. With over 300 sunny days per year in Florida, the climate is perfect for enjoying all type of outdoor activities on the Space Coast. Nautical outdoor recreation is an important activity in Brevard County. With the Indian River, Lake Washington, the river San Juan and other waterways, sailors can enjoy activities like water skiing, fishing, air, canoeing and more. Channel 54 in the county Brevard, Indian River County line is a favorite area for waterskiers and ski clubs. Ski tournaments have been held professional level in the channel 54.

Life along the Space Coast evolving at a steady pace, without the business, traffic, congestion and crime of the big city. All cities in County Brevard still somewhat small town feel while access to big city services. Headline musical and entertainment shows can be found at concert at the King Center on the campus of Brevard Community College in North Melbourne and the Milwaukee Brewers Major League Baseball Team called Space Coast Stadium home for training spring. The Brevard County Manatees round the rest of the baseball season for Brevard sports fans to enjoy.

More entertainment big and culture, the Space Coast is located so that Orlando and all that goes with it is only 1 hour and 45 minute drive from anywhere in Brevard County.

With so much to enjoy and access to many activities, recreation, and more beautiful weather, the Florida Space Coast is one of the best places to live in the nation. If you ever have the opportunity to see a shuttle launch and spend time in any of many communities in the picturesque county of Brevard you hooked and then you wish, can call the Space Coast home.
