What are the best canoeing rivers in Michigan?

We just Grayling Lake Huron to take the weekend. Too many reservuoirs in the latter part of the journey. We are looking for something faster, maybe some light rapids. I'm in Bay City, so we have to be about 2 hours distance away. So we can be in the water before dark.

Try this website. It's been a while, but Rifle Pere Marquette River and it would be worth a try. Pere Marquette was a weekend trip with overnight stays accessible by canoe. Both rivers have the fastest section. It can not be considered fast.
