Platte River Canoeing Michigan
interlochen state park???
my family and i are going to go to to interlochen state park in michigan this year. dose anyonew know anything about the campground. what i also wantto know what are some cheap and fun things that you can do thats now over 1 hour away. What about a cheap store to shop at and a cheap place to canoe at that has good swimming and fishing. about the platte river and dunes how far away are they from the campsite. we are trying to for cheap food. dont say spam just tell me all you can please!!!!!!!!!
We need food recipies that don’t cost to much to buy the ingredients and stuff.
This is the largest state park in Michigan. It sits between Duck Lake and Green Lake. The staff is very friendly, and it has modern facilities like bathrooms and showers, near Duck Lake.
The park caters to RVs and has rustic camping near Green Lake. (Which is cheaper than the more modern sites)
Like most campgrounds and state parks near lakes there are many family activities you can do. Most of them cheap and healthy!
There is fishing, boating, swimming and a playground.
Hiking trails, cycling, and any number of ball games (remember to take what you want to play).
Interlochen is close to many different things to do in Traverse City (just 15miles away) and near the Lake Michigan shoreline too.
As for cutting meal costs make use of the picnic shelters scattered about. Sandwiches and fruit are ideal for lunches.
Breakfasts can be kept simple with cereal and toast.
I can only suggest you take as much as you can from home.
And shop when necessary at a supermarket in Traverse City
Park stores are traditionally expensive.
I have found the Parks website for you, there are phone number there for you to use if you need to:

Megan, enjoy the holiday with your family.
