The World Cup has a long history of more than 125 years.
England and Scotland played the first international football match in 1872. But during that time the sport was rarely played outside Great Britain. Foot Ball's popularity began to grow increasingly. Football match was played as a sport exhibition.

During the 1900, 1904 and 1906 he served as the Summer Games. Until 1908, football was played as the Olympic Games without the medal. This event was first played to the fans that was organized by Football Association of England. It was a show at the beginning rather than a competition.

This remains an Olympic event competition between amateur teams. Sir Thomas Lipton organized the Sir Thomas Lipton Trophy tournament in Turin in 1909 between the prestigious professional clubs in Italy, Germany and Switzerland. This competition was often described as the first World Cup.

West Auckland North side fans England had won the first tournament. This team was invited after the Football Association refused to be associated with competition. In 1911 West Auckland returned to England and successfully defended his title. According to the rules of the competition the trophy was handed over to West Auckland to keep with them forever.

The Olympic tournament was recognized as a "World Cup  amateur" in 1914 by FIFA. Then he took the responsibility to organize the event. The summer Olympics held in 1924 was the first world from intercontinental competition ball of the foot.

Uruguay won the Tournament. Once again, won the gold medal in 1928 with another South American team, Argentina, who took the silver medal. FIFA decided to organize their own international tournament in 1928. Uruguay, which were the two-time World Cup Official Champions who were celebrating their centenary of independence in 1930 became the host for the tournament held that year which was decided by FIFA.

Popularity of football was not as good in the U.S. for the Summer Olympic Games in 1932 held in Los Angeles, does not plan to include football as part of the program. The status of amateur players was not agreed by FIFA and the IOC for football was dropped from the Games.

This made the Jules Rimet, the FIFA president to organize the inaugural tournament World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930. The nations participating in the tournament were invited by the President of FIFA. But Uruguay's place was too far for many countries, so the match took place between Belgium, France, Romania and Yugoslavia.
